Experience
I attended McGill University and the London School of Economics, where I earned degrees in English and Gender Policy. I am a former AmeriCorps volunteer and currently work at a special needs elementary school in the Washington, DC area. I have extensive hands-on and behavioral management skills working with children, as well as being experienced in early literacy and related teaching methods. I have a valuable blend of teaching experience and subject-specific knowledge to play a pivotal role in tutoring students. Each of my fields of study included heavy focus on analytical reading and writing, and while this is my greatest strength, I continue pursuing additional opportunities for further development. I have worked at the Financial Times and DBC UK magazines, environments that fostered the drive for hard work, learning by doing, and managing groups. I also worked on many university editorial boards, which enhanced my team management and played a key part in the success of my editorial tenure. My years in the service and editorial industries honed my interpersonal relation skills and my teaching talents as well. I enjoy reading, running, volleyball, traveling, and cooking.
